4th of July

This past weekend was "Independence Day" here in the US.

For the most part people spend the weekend BBQing, drinking, and setting things on fire.

It was kinda bittersweet for us. We had planned (you know on our failed moving timetable) that we would be spending the 4th in a new state.

We thought we would be celebrating this year in a place where we could do "real" fireworks. You know NOT the California ones that sputter for 3 seconds before they die out.

But things being what they are we were celebrating in California yet again.

We just stuck around home, spent a good portion of the day on the porch and taking silly selfies.

We did have some traditional BBQ foods though.

You might just wonder what vegetarians would be eating......

We had frankfurters from Field Roast (seriously the BEST vegan/vegetarian ones around) They are a bit pricy (about $1 per dog) But let me tell you they are so good, and the fact that they are veg and grain is a bonus....No soy or weird textures.

I had also made some potato salad and cheese fries.

V had made another batch of his brownies for the day too.

We even went wild and had some Blue Sky soda.

Our tummies were super happy with everything and the night was finished off with some left over sparklers from our past Ut trip.

All in all it was a good day.
