Ogden Canyon

Last weekend we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather to check out Ogden Canyon.

The canyon itself is rather short, but still a nice little drive.

At the entrance to the canyon there was a Planet Rainbow.

We decided to have a snack of "Mormon Muffins"

The muffins were good. Nothing spectacular in my book, but none the less tasty.

The place was beyond odd. There is really no rhyme or reason behind it...

The Greenery restaurant (where you get the muffins) reminds me of the restaurants along Main Street in Disneyland.

I was waiting for the barber shop quartet.

Then there was the gift shop that had everything from tourist trinkets to a fudge counter, new age items and essential oils, to a bakery/espresso/soda counter.

Anyhow the muffins were tasty and got us on our way.

The first thing we saw was this waterfall....I think it is a pressure release but beautiful all the same.

We arrived at the Oaks at a perfect time.

Since we missed the lunch crowd and were just finishing up as the dinner crowd was filing on in we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Can't beat dining over the river in the warm sunshine.

Since the canyon was shorter then we expected we drove around the reservoir and over to check out Powder Mountain.

It was beautifully peaceful since it was closed for the season and no one was around.

It was weird to imagine such untouched snow and no one on it.

The feel over here was much like Park City...but not.

The deer were having a feast on the golf course lawn.

And this was spotted on our way back to the canyon.

Overall it was a great way to spend a Saturday and is an area that we need to go back and explore some more.
